Guild Charter

By applying to Ruination, you are telling us that you have read and agree with this charter. If you do not, this isn't the guild for you.

I.)General Raiding Policy
Ruination’s primary purpose is to progress through the raid content World of Warcraft has to offer. We are a casual guild in the sense that we do not treat this game like a job. We play for fun, but we play to win. Winning is how we enjoy the game. Our members, as a requirement, must have this drive and determination to succeed in “end game” content. As is necessary to be successful in our raids, all members are required to be skilled, knowledgeable, intelligent, and well-geared. Individual skill is an invaluable trait that we look for in all our members. Attending a raid in Ruination means that you have read up on the content we’ll be facing for the night, not relying on raid leaders to lecture you on every boss. We expect a lot out of our members. You won’t be called to raid simply to stand back, push buttons, and collect loot.

II.) Environment
Our members are required to be respectful to one another. All traditional guild etiquette is implied. Members should not be offended by occasional foul language or the random dick/fart joke. We screw around. Loot whoring, disrespect to other members, stinginess, etc will not be tolerated.

III.) Attendance
Our members are expected to do one of two things in response to planned guild events.
1.) Show up to the raid for it's entirety.
2.) If you’re unable to make a raid or stay for it's entirety, please post your availability ASAP on the forums before the event is planned to transpire.

We do not implement a minimum required attendance %, but this guild is meant for raiding and our ranks are based on these attendance %'s among other factors. Our members will be “expected” to make roughly 80% of raids. If your raid attendance dips too low for too long a period of time, your raiding status will be removed until we can confirm your availability at a later date.
Sometimes, we will have more members than there are spots for a raid. The raid leaders and officers are in charge of deciding who gets in and who sits out. Raid leaders will always be expected to keep a number of things in mind when making these decisions:
• Raid balance
• Member seniority
• Who has been sitting out in the past
Members who are asked to sit out on a raid, and who make themselves available to the raid should we need them, get credit for their attendance(playing on an alt with your main parked outside, or farming solo with your hearthstone set nearby is OK). Please keep in mind that we usually raid from 7pm-11pm server time on Monday & Thursday. Please make sure this time frame is acceptable to you before signing up to our raids/applying to the guild.

IV.) Loot
The loot system in Ruination is best described as a merit based loot system. When loot drops, our officers decide who it goes to. We take in a number of things to ensure the fairness of this system. These are the things we take into account:
-Who has gotten loot in the past.
-Who could benefit the most from the piece of loot.
-Who could we give the loot to to most benefit the guild.
-Is the player we're giving the loot to a reliable person?
Of course, loot will not go to applicants & guests over full members. However, applicants & guests can get loot over alts.

V.) Alts
Unless specifically stated by the raid leaders, alts will not be permitted to join raids and receive loot over any main (be they applicants or not). Granted, there may be times when inviting an alt is best for raid balance, and sometimes we may do this. We have an "Alt Guild" named "RuinALTion." Members are welcome to invite as many alts into this guild as they wish.

VI.) Recruitment
We do not allow just anyone to join our ranks. When an application is submitted, our officers decide (with the input of our members) whether or not to admit that person as a probationary member. Typically, the probationary period will last about two to three weeks, although some members will be promoted to members earlier/later than this. During this time, it is your job to impress the hell out of us. As a probationary member, you’ll be expected to show up to near every raid, although a spot is not always guaranteed. The best way to make a worthy impression is to group with members as much as possible. Be outgoing! Two weeks is not a very long time to get to know a person, so during these runs and what raids you’ll be attending we’ll be evaluating your skills as a player, knowledge of your class and content, gear, and compatibility with our members. If you suck, don’t apply. We don’t need anymore suck; we’re all stocked up (Velven). After we’ve had adequate time to review your application, naturally a decision will be made to either extend an invitation to the guild as a member, or to deny your application.

VII.) Guild Ranks
Guest:
-Close Friend/Family member of a guild member.
-A guest should never expect raid invites, however, a guest may attend optional raids if proper raid balance permits.
-Guests are more than welcome in-guild, but please limit the amount of chit-chat in Guild Chat during raid times.
-The only requirement of being a "Guest" is that you get along with Guild members and you're not a douchebag.
-Guest members are put behind Honor Guards for loot priority. Items are considered "Rot" if awarded a Guest.
-We do not expect Guests to post when they can/cannot make a raid on our forum.
-Guests can be promoted to higher ranks, however they must go through the application process if an opening is present.

Recruit:
-New member of the guild with the intent to raid.
-Recruits will remain at this rank while being evaluated for guild placement for an average time period of 2-3 weeks depending on the applicant.
-If accepted, the recruit will either be promoted to Honor Guard or Legionnaire based on the guild needs.
-Expected to perform to the best of their abilities and show up to raids with plenty of reagents and consumables.
-Expected to be available for all raids and expected to sit out as needed.
-Recruits are put behind Honor Guards on loot priority. Items are considered "Rot" when awarded to a Recruit.
-We fully expect our Recruits to post when they cannot make raids.

Honor Guard:
-Casual raiding member.
-Called on when spots are available to maintain proper class balance.
-It is expected that if an Honor Guard is available to play WoW (PvP/Farm/Raid), you will gladly fill in our spot in the raid.
-Honor Guards are often raiders who have infrequent schedules.
-Undergeared and/or more inexperienced players may also be placed in this rank while they gear up and gain experience.
-Expected to perform to the best of their abilities and show up to raids with plenty of reagents.
-Expected to have their gear appropriately enchanted and socketed.
-We do not expect Honor Guards to post when they can/cannot make a raid on our forum.

Legionnaire:
-A Legionnaire is usually a member who is unable to attend all raids, but is available for most.
-Member that is regularly invited to raids when online if balance permits.
-Expected to perform to the best of their abilities and show up with plenty of reagents and consumables.
-Expected to have their gear completely and optimally enchanted and socketed.
-Recruits for Ruinator positions will be placed at Legionnaire before becoming Ruinators.
-Legionnaires may be promoted to Ruinator if an appropriate spot opens up.
-We fully expect our Legionnaires to post when they cannot make raids.

Ruinator:
-Core raiding member who is counted on to be at every raid for optimal class balance.
-A Ruinator rarely misses raids, shows up late, or leaves early.
-Expected to perform to the best of their abilities and show up with plenty of reagents and consumables.
-Expected to have their gear completely and optimally enchanted and socketed.
-Ruinators who are inconsistently performing in raids will be demoted and their core raiding spot will be replaced.
-Generally, when guild applications are open, they are open for the "Ruinator" rank.
-We appreciate our Honor Guards & Legionaires, but our success is largely reliant on the attendance, performance, and dedication of our Ruinators.
-We fully expect our Ruinators to post when they cannot make raids.

General/Warchief:
-Officer rank of the guild.
-Refer to expectations of a Ruinator.
-Generals are responsible for raid coordination, loot distribution, forum administration, and public relations with other guilds & players.
-Generals are expected to listen to and dicuss ideas or concerns members may have.
-Generals are expected to lead by example by knowing that there are times to screw around and there are times to focus on the raid.
-Generals are also expected to stay consistently in communication with the other Generals & Warchief in guild should situations come up either in Real Life & in-game.
-Generals are core raiding members who are counted on to be at raids for optimal class balance & leadership.
-We fully expect our Generals to post when they cannot make raids.

*Please note that the above charter is subject to any changes we see fit at any time.
